Facilities
Located at more than 2,500 meters above sea level, the Refuge de Solaise is a true white paradise overlooking the valley of Val d'Isère. Located in the former Solaise cable car station, the hotel claims to be the highest in the French Alps. Le Refuge is elegant, warm and contemporary, offering a unique mountain experience.
The hotel features a bar and two restaurants:
- Gigi, a well known Parisian italian restaurant, has establised a mountain residence here serving lunch and dinner
- Le Petit Refuge is a more relaxed atmosphere outdoor restaurant and offers homemade pizzas to eat in or take away (lunchtimes only).
- Room service is also available
- Breakfast is served daily buffet style to hotel guests.
The Spa and Wellness Area is available to all guests has incredible views and features

Location
Le Refuge is located just below the top of the Solaise telecabine, accessed from the foot of the snowfront in the centre of Val d'Isere.
On arrival at the meeting point, your luggage will be taken to the telecabine and lift passes provided for you to take the 10 minute Gondola ride up to the hotel, 200m above the village.
*Arrival is only available during the ski lift opening hours of 09.00 to16.30 with assistance provided by prior arrangement with the hotel.
Rooms
There are a range of rooms and apartments available at Le Refuge du Solaise.
'Competition' room for 1-2 (35 sq m) - King sized bed (or twin singles) with en suite shower room.
'Competition +' rooms for 1-3 (50 sq m) - Duplex with king sized bed (or twin singles) and extra single bed on mezzanine. Shower room.
'World Cup' rooms for 1-3 (42 sq m) - King sized bed (or twin singles) plus an additional sofa type bed most suitable for children. Bathroom incudes a bath from where you can enjoy great views of the mountain. Separate WC.
'World Cup+' rooms for 1-4 (58 sq m) - King size bed or two single beds in the main room and a queen size bed or two single beds in the additional room. Shared bathroom and WC.
Olympique Suites for 1-5 (68 sq m) - Large master bedroom equipped with a king size bed or two twin beds with private bathroom and separate toilet. Spacious open mezzanine with sofas that can be converted into a sleeping area for 3 people and a bathroom.
The Dormitory
The dormitory is a unique space sleeping up to 14 guests across three double beds and eight singles. There are two bathrooms and a separate toilet. Most beds are elevated with access via ladders.
Apartments
All apartments offer a fully equipped kitchen and include the services of a butler, daily cleaning and access to the spa. Additional services such as chalet fitting of ski equipment, food provisioning, private chef, parking in the resort and room service are available on request.
Danaids - sleeps 4 (74 sq m). Open plan living space with 2 bedooms, 1 with a king-sized double, the 2nd with a Queen Bed that can also be made up as twin singles. Both have en suite shower rooms.
Madeleine - sleeps 10 (168 sq m). Open plan living space with fireplace and balcony. Four bedrooms one with a queen-sized double bed and three with king-sized beds that can be made as double or twins. One additional bunk room offering two single sized bunks. All rooms have en suite shower rooms, one with an additional bath.
Glacier - sleeps 12 (160 sq m). Dining room open to kitchen and sitting room with with fireplace and balcony. Five bedrooms two with queen size beds and three with king size beds (one en suite) that can be converted into twin singles. One dormitory on the mezzanine level with two single beds (no windows). Two shared shower rooms.
Charvet - sleeps 18. Loft style duplex apartment with open plan living space,feature fireplace, open equipped kitchen and a majestic table offering a breathtaking view of the mountains. The apartment has seven bedrooms with breathtaking views and a dormitory, all equipped with either a bathroom or shower room and feturing four queen size beds, three king size beds that can be converted into twin beds, and the dormitory with two double beds and a bunk bed.
Catering
Rooms, Suites and the Dormitory are available on a Bed & Breakfast basis.
Apartments are available Self-Catering with Bed and Breakfast avaialble for a supplement per person.
Pricing guide
Rooms for 2 available from € 317 per night including Breakfast.
Suites for up to 5 guests are available from € 696 per night including Breakfast.
The Dormitory for up to 14 guests is avaiable from € 730 per night including Breakfast.
Apartments start at €685 per night for the smallest of the apartments on a self catered basis. Please ask us about other options and availability.
